Tree Runner - P3000

Was just searching online for the best price on the Stein RC3001 and saw the Tree Runner P3000 on honey bros.

 

Anyone used one?

Does the p3000 have rubber inserts for pruning or rigging off other trees? Those spikes don't look like they will be healthy if they don't!

I don't regret buying the 3001 , honeys and gustarts have them on offer as well as the moment.

Having used The RC3001 for about 18months with a firm I do a lot for I have now brought one myself, absolutely bomb proof. Simple effective and reliable. plus the rated attachment point at the top gives you a few more options in terms of incorporating mechanical advantage

Any info on the mechanical advantage devices? I buying it simply for one job with large timber and tight drop. I use a smaller device curretly.

 

Is it worth getting the extra £60 pulley and prussic setup or are there any other ideas to had some advantage?

I've played around with a few ideas using stuff I already had and a large slick pin rope grab, few pics and explanation on my blog:

Works alright, good to have in the bag when you do need to lift something, not really efficient enough to use all the time though

Looks a real simple system, I like it. Another plus is that I have all the bits minus a 16mm grab laying around.
