Had my Tajfun over a year now and very happy with it.

Just wondered what fellow owners are getting out of it output wise. I know there are loads of variables to consider but just interested thats all. I did 15t roughly of big diameter cord wood in under 4 hours for a customer, thats the best ive done. Must of equated to roughly 8 or 9 cube an hour. That was me on controls non stop with a guy loading log deck with loader.

Most of the time im around 3 or 4 cube an hour I suppose on average. Thats loading the machine by hand most of the time. Every contracting job I have done the customer has always been impressed with the output.

15 ton in 4 hours is good, nice decent size stuff, not having to load deck and just putting logs straight into pile make a hell of a diffence.

Have u a proper log deck ?

Yes I havent done that sort of output again. It was all stuff that was literally boardline too big but just fitted in. All split with the 8 way knife, straight onto a big pile in a barn. Not the towable log deck, the static self loading deck. The towable one was to much money to justify. Im going to fabricate one for a fraction of the price when I get a chance.

I reckon we can turn out 10 cube an hour fairly comfortably with our 400 joy with a log deck and avant loading. If its big timber splitting 8 ways I reckon we can get nearer 13 an hour.

Do you reckon Jay? I sort of asked the question as to what owners thought would be max output. Old matey from Kilworth said 10 cube an hr but I reckon everything set up perfect with perfect wood you may get 11 or 12 (but chances of getting in that situation are slim).

I would think you boys are getting carried away with your outputs!

Not really. I know the chances of getting perfect output are very slim, I have only been close to it that once. I was only really curious what others have achieved. It took me an hour to do 3 cube today, that was on my own and spliting small lengths of ash with the single and 4 way blade.

I think that's a fair figure. This is with 2 guys. One never leaves the joy stick if the machine though. And the other has to load the deck neatly! And keep on top of the saw dust etc. if you can keep a constant flow of timber into the machine you can soon eat through it. However like you say Ben if its small diameter it can take an hour to do 1 cube.
