Chainbrake malfunction

Hi, new here, hope you can help me with a chain brake problem.

The brake will not engage when the saw is hot.

The saw (Stihl MS660) is new to me but second hand.

Had a new brake handle fitted (old one was bendy) before I encountered this problem.

I'm milling large sections of oak so it's working quite hard and getting quite hot.

If I cool the saw down by leaving it a while or by setting about it with compressed air it suddenly works again perfectly well.

Any ideas anybody?

Cheers

Justin

Its a known problem . The exhaust gasses are softening the handle . Bad design . Try a twin port muffler or mod your existing one to redirect the exhaust gasses away from the plastic of the handle .....
