Hudson Wharton 10 ton , Recovery Vehicle Mounted Mechanical Winch Drum, #68026 - MOD Sales, Military Vehicles & Used Ex MOD Land Rovers for Sale

States mechanical drive, but surely is hydraulic drive?

Would the DB 1490 hyd pump be fit fer it?

Mind you with all that extra weight up front I would get bogged more often:001_rolleyes::confused1:.

To be fair they say its a Mechanical Winch Drum which is a bit ambiguous in that it describes a component of the winch rather than the entire thing.

What it doesn't say is its mechanically driven.

Nice winch though but I recon your 1490 would have a panic attack if you just put that on the arms:laugh1:

cough cough

(i) it ud obviously be front mounted

(ii) Could ANYONE explain exactly how a winch drum containing wire rope can be owt other than "mechanical":lol:

or has someone figgered how to float wire rope under tension on a bed of hydraulic oil perhaps.:001_tt2::001_tt2:

(iii)I do wonder is someone lining a mate up for a cheap deal, presuming there would be MUCH more interest in a hydraulic driven winch.:confused1:
