But Lee, it may go against the grain having a builder taking 20% tax from you, but it doesnt mean you will pay any more tax at the end of the year.

So long as said builder actually pays in the deducted monies. Been there done that, trust no-one.

Worked in building trade for four years on stonework. When you are taxed 20% you should also be sent a voucher to hand to the tax man when you do your returns, so you shouldnt have to worry Andy. CIS doesnt exist anymore.

Yeah I know abut the vouchers, just dont trust the building game too much. You still have to register fr CIS, just dont have a card anymore, if you dont register you get stopped 30% at source. This was from CIS this morning.

I went to the tax office when the cis cards were fased out. You get issued a tax reference no. which you quote to building company. You use that same no. everytime. Sub to many different construction companies.
