Just bought one of these and a pulley to use above my hitch climber.

I like the idea of mechanical advantage and I'm keen to give it a shot...

Does anyone use this set up and have any advice/tips ? Switched to HC a while ago and really like it. Currently using it with an eyetie hitch.

Yeah it is. I like the extra bits on it so it can be reversed or used as second anchor etc... Only had one small climb on it .

Just ordered a pinto to put above my HC to create some mechanical advantage.... I'm 49 tomorrow and would like to lose a stone in weight :)

I'm hoping that this won't over complicate my system..

Thanks

A Pinto above the Hitchclimber? How do you mean?

A prussic (or the thimble borrowed of the lanyard) holding the pinto on the main line above the HC with the trailing part of the rope sent back up and over the pinto creating mechanical advantage. Hope I've explained correctly :)

Thanks

On your mainline ? , flag that mate , get a foot ascender and don't worry about anymore of a mechanical advantage then you have with your normal system , you will need 4x the rope if you set the thimble up the top of the tree.

I recently bought a CE Lanyard to replace my Dragon adjustable lanyard with rope grab. Also bought hitch climber and foot pantin at same time.

I find that I can easily take both along.. dragon as conventional side to side lanyard when in a straightforward vertical position but CE as second climbing line really and extra anchoring if cutting in awkward position. I use the little prussic with the HC in O rig ascent. Also got a revolver krab to play with the MA options. Have found the CE can be temperamental with the friction hitch. Still trying to find the optimum knot for it.
