Tachyon splice

yeah thats what i resortd to doing-never had to do it before with double braid. Is that normal with tachyon? pretty sure they will get easier to do. This one is off to be destroyed to see how it compares with other splices.

Heres some pice of before and after the tachyon splice test. Only tested against a double fishermans due to the machine being used. The rope snapped at 2.6 tonnes at the fishermans termination. I was surprised it held this much. Also rigged up a spliced Donaghys 12mm Spark rope with an Armor prus VT-this Vt had done about 5months of hard daily use-splced with class II splices. The hitch started to slip at 1.5 tonnes and i think we then called it quits on that test. we then tested the same hitch cord and it snapped on the pin (it was doubled over to kinda simulate real life) at 2.8 tonnes.

Thanks to DM Standens (the rope centre) for letting us use the machine and Home Page for supplying the rope.:001_cool:

AP failed at 2.8 tonnes and we still can't buy it over here? AP that had been used in a hitch for 5 months?
