Commercial vs domestic

Recommended Posts

We have never had any major problems with domestic. Commercials are a regular problem. I find the worst is property management companies that will invoice their client for your work first wait for them to pay and then pay you 2 weeks later. In the past we have waited months. Becomes difficult with landscaping work as you can be waiting on tens of thousands after materials. Our invoice system enables you to automatically send reminders. If you send them one everyday they soon get pissed off and pay up.

We have commercial payment issues yes but only delays not terminal non-payers.

The very worst are the British second home owners who will do all they can to wriggle out of or delay payment.

Latest non-payer was yesterday "Oh my wife has the cheque book"...

One non-payer of almost 3k has complained that his hedge is not perfectly square as per the examples on our web site and so will not pay until made so even though he was told repeatedly beforehand that the hedge needs to be felled.

Another has emailed to say that until he can inspect the work he will not pay.

Unfortunately due to family reasons he cannot visit this year and the work was back in March!

Commercial i eventual money in the bank but the expat money I fear may represent a possible loss.
