It is silky smooth like glass my daughter said ann summers would buy it LOL.

No ian i have not had time yet but will get there some time. I saw three bowls for sale at a craft show the cheapest was a holly bowl £350 the big one was £ 1650. There was also a steam bent table £6900 who buys these things i ask myself:001_smile:

With all the turner there are in the country you'd think there'd be a flood of turned bowl and no-one would be able to command those prices

Bloody hell i'm selling my stuff to cheap but i enjoy what i do. I have noticed if you sell to a shop they at least double the price. I'm going to try and have a go at making oval shaker boxes i just need to make the templates first.

Have been supplying an aquaintance with a few bits and pieces.

Mainly Walnut, Cherry,Yew & Laburnum.

 

He's turned me a few pieces before, I'm getting him to do a Walnut bowl for a colleague who has retired.

Sorry ian i never did say it was box. It was a 12 inch trunk 3 metres long it is a lovely olive colour. With the trunk i thought about making bowls but i need to get a faceplate first.:001_rolleyes:
