buy yourself a austrian scythe and if you can get a few people look up british scythe asociation and get one of the members to do a days course. you learn how to use one and are good and get it cut at same time.

one mastered you can cut large areas with one in a short time. and good for cutting shorter stuff

Austrian scythe is a beautiful tool to use. I've always used an English and took one to a scything festival with the intention of competing with it last month. I was using it in the practice meadow but had a go with an Austrian with a 90cm blade. What a revalation! I reckon I was twice as quick with it as my English and less effort too. I bought one.
