Cambium saver retriever

Evening chaps, just wondering if anyone has made there own cambium retriever I will buy one, but don't need any other equipment for a big order and can't justify spends nearly a tenner inc pp.

A washer and old throw line or starter cord as long as it gets stopped by the smallest ring

I made one with a macadamia nut and some 2mm cord, works a treat

Yeah I do that but sometimes gets caught on the big ring and takes a lot of flicking to release it.

I use a smal maillon, just fits over the spliced end if rope, makes it through the big ring and not through the small one. Indestructible and the rest of teh time can be used for other purposes or kept securely on your gear loop.

If your anywhere near a shop that sells sailing supplies you can normally find ball stops that are the exact size you need and they're pretty cheap. They'll probably have some nice thin cord for it too

The rubber keeps it short and the karabiner in place.

 

Don't use a knot because this happens.

Nice one for the detailed reply found a pack of 4 32mm sailing beads on ebay for £5.49 I think ill use some pull start cord until I can find somewhere for the rubber ties.
