Steve,

That's very nice, what do you chip in to? My suspicions that special vehicle registration won't work for me have been confirmed. So now know where I stand.

Cheers

Hi Mark,

We chip into a chip trailer on the defender. We are set up as a two vehicle combination. It deals with weight issues a lot better and give us the flexibility I like.

Pick up trucks & such would not be viable for the chip volume on a lot of jobs with the Bandit.

Hi Steve,

It chip volume that's pushing me to getting a lorry. At the moment I struggle a bit with getting extra drivers day in day out. So I've think it will be one big truck and a Defender. I expect that Bandit fills your trailer pretty quickly, which is what is all about.

Cheers

Hi Mark,

Weight & volume issues are always a problem, chances you will always be up against it short of hugeness which brings its own costing/space/licence issues.

I have teamed up with another tree business who has similar outlooks and values, this gives my business the manning and frontage which works brilliant. Some days it his work, sometimes its mine. Give and take and a desire to succeed.

Sounds great, I love your mog. I've occasionally taken the chipper behind he wife's car and chipped into the defender and a trailer, but your almost always over loaded with a 3.5t GVW truck.

As I said I'm going to give the big truck option ago and just deal with the bureaucracy and costs. I put a thread on here when I commit to something.

Cheers

Hi Steven, looks a nice set up with mog and chipper. All makes sense now seeing the pictures after talking to you at the show about your setup among other things.

Hi John,

I have only just realised who you are!!!

It was good talking to you at the show. Hope you are still busy and making good margins. Are you going to the APF in Sep?

Hoping to get the DART charity down and set up at the 'Global Recycling' stand, that is with their kind support.

If you are down, please come over and share a few.

Talk soon

Steve
