Do heated handles help Arthritis?

Would not buy a new saw without them if they are an option.

Very little difference in price tbh no more than a couple of chains or a few tanks of fuel

If you can't afford the extra then just wait till you can

Worth every penny if it allows you to carry on working later in your career

Do the heated handles work continuously as the saw is running or is it switchable. Just thinking about summer use?

Switchable , it just diverts exhausts fumes I believe .

They are excellent!!

In old days when heated handles were heavy(ish) I always used to think an exhaust fume switcher would be just the answer!

 

They're electric and in 560 (and presumably other new husqys) they also warm the carb

Exhaust based handle heating was a thing of the late 1960s and the 1970s.

They must've made at least a small difference in those days with not the best anti vibe

I have white finger in both hands and fibro myalgia, and heated handles are a god send for me in winter.

Well that seemed to be a resounding yes for heated handles then.

 

So two firsts this morning!! Not only have I ordered a new saw with heated handles, I've jumped ship to the other side and expect to be the proud new owner of a Husky 560XPG in the next few days.

Id second that absolutely. I suffer from whitefinger a bit and the heat really helps with this too.

 

Also, its a great feeling putting your gloved hand on the handles when its raining hard, and after a few minutes your hands are warm and dry.

 

Small comforts are worth it as an old forester once told me, "any fool can be uncomfortable".

 

+1 i suffer from white finger raynards disease. the heated handles keeps the fingers warm so allowing blood flow in. its not being a girls blouse. having used breakers for years without dampers like now if i use a saw for extended periods my hands swell to nearly double size and pain is yuk takes a good hour to get any feeling back in hands. they do say it helps stop this so can see it working for old arther. what is a heated handle £50 on top has to be worth it less than a 1p a day in the life of a saw
