I'm with Dean and Skyhuck on this one; legislation borne out of compensation culture* will never make up for incompetance imo. Seems to be a lot of naiveity about the bottom line - £...

*I wouldn't claim for tripping over a loose paving slab on principle.

Fair play to Dean; a) investing in his staff with training and a degree - 10/10.

b) pays a decent wage - £100/day for a climber somewhere else on this thread - shocking.

The Tax thing was a joke - Mr legalistic compliance head pays for Mr very slightly less so's injury; er, wasn't the latter paying tax too?!

In the last industry I worked for, WAH was pretty full on too. On top of that the STA we also had to comply with dictated that standing on a Yellow Pages was "working at height"... no comment. By the time I left, RAs were being done for boiling the kettle and going to the loo; Euro laws forcing the UK down the latter imo.

Forestry - much less hassle :001_tongue: 2 harvesters a long way away and me and my buddy 3 tree heights apart with nothing to hit apart from other trees!

Anyhow, seems dangling from cranes is becoming more fashionable and frequent now! In which case the 25 ton crane better have a spare driver and there had better be a 100 ton crane on hand to rescue the 25 toner..........................:001_smile:
