Can only tell by my own experience, I only use Round Up but I once used Clinic ace as it was cheaper for a trial and it was not as effective as Round Up. There are different grades of Round up from agriculture to amenity. I use Round Up pro Biactive that is agriculture as most of my work is nature conservation. Hope that helps?

gallup and rosate are identical glyphosate products. I've not come across clinic ace so can't comment. Roundup have tried to regain market share by pimping up their product by including wetters and adjuvants to enable the plants to take it up quicker or it to be rainfast quicker etc. if your spraying off a yard area it could be worth investigating chikara which is a non selective residual herbicide i.e. it kills everything and it shouldn't come back, I've never used it but seen it advertised.

I use clinic ace and find it does the job as intended. The only difference is that it is slower to cause browning/die off at a slightly slower rate but IMO, it always gets the job done and is much cheaper then Roundup.

What's the difference between those and this amenity glyphosate. We have some Knotweed over the wall on some waste ground and it's getting closer every year. I've weakened it by regular cutting and using some weedkiller down the stems but it would be easier to get in and just spray it later in the season.

What are you doing with the cut material? If you are leaving it to drop to the ground you could be perpetuating the problem as any section of JKN with a node can potentially regrow as a new shoot ~ 1m per month.

Also, you say you are spraying weedkiller down the tube - but are you breaking the base of the tube with a point first, so the killer can get directly in to the root stock?

Oh - and 360 g/L glyphosate as the active ingredient is standard in most (all?) of these products, so the difference may only be the presence or otherwise of adjuvants.

The cut stems are left where they are on top of the blackberry bushes growing round them so they don't come into contact with anywhere to root and I pierce the nodes with a piece of welding rod pushed down to the base of the stem on the thicker growth and just spray the leaves on the low growth. It is Bayer Glyphosate ready mixed I have been using and it has knocked it back considerably. It looks a reasonable price for the one on the website as it cost me £4 for a small hand sprayer full.

Torden 22k best for JK but they are removing it from sale and will rebrand like they always do.. 6 or 7 the price of glypho but a lot more effective and we use alot

I use rosate 360, a squirt of fairy liquid (other washing up liquids are available) which just acts as a whetter and a glug of liquid fert. Was told that by a spraying contractor and it works. The fert stimulises the plant to take the glyphosate in quicker. From experience the first week the weed does nothing, day eight to ten it goes darker, eleven to fourteen goes yellow and falls over. For nettles add a bit of 2.4-d as, again, in my experience, glyphosate wont always knock a mature nettle down in one go. Also good for docks.

There's little point in buying premixed as its nowhere near strong enough. All of the glyphosates seem the same to me, its just the strength that varies. So buy the 360 and mix it 500ml in 10 litres and spray to run off. I got rid of my knot weed that way, but you need to be persistant.
