Anyone near Bergerac in France?

If so you are a lucky git! Haha im over here for a few days atm and cannot get over how beautiful a tranquil the area is and it's scorching sunshine to boot. This is the view from the pool at the gîte

I spend quite a lot of time in the southern Vendee, north of where you are.

 

I have a had a few great holidays in the Bergerac area. As you say a beautiful region. And the Perigord region is just full of trees...............

 

There is a member who is based in Charente Maritime, though I'm not sure where.

Hi,

 

Yes, Bergerac is not far south of us, Chateau Jaubertie a nice white & Chateau Pierrail between Bordeaux & Bergerac my favourite red from the region.

 

We also like the Lot Valley to the East, beautiful area around Cajarc, with Cahors making fantastic meaty reds - very tranquil 'La France profonde' where we have friends with a gite complex. That said, we have a similar view from the Prieu in the back garden.

Ooh Im not so sure you will like that, theres the beautiful Limousin forest & they make very strong alcohol :D
