I have a KM100R.

I've separated the two parts about 10 times to use the extension for the hedge cutter.

Now the clamp system won't tighten sufficiently to hold the two parts together. It's a rubbish design.

Has anyone come up with an ingenious solution?

Either use an M8 bolt and spanner.

Or say sod it, and just bolt the correct attachment to the end of a normal length strimmer shaft. Takes a minute at best and also eliminates a bit of vibration. I've done this for five years.

I find the "Tommy" bolt thread strips easily, usually carry a spare with me, if you need the whole clamp I have one knocking about in the shed somewhere you can have. Let me know as I will be in Copthorne on Monday morning :thumbup1:

I've just bought a new 130 to replace a dead 100, all my attachments are even looser now than they were in the old head. and i got through several bolts on that one.

its true, you have to buy a dedicated machine for the job.
