I use a 10mm dmm sling as a chest harness with a small wild country snap gate, this clips into the middle hole on my hitch climber, ImageUploadedByArbtalk1399310788.907586.jpg.69fcbebadd378bfb8c34c3ba3b394e9e.jpg

Seems to tend it pretty well and doesn't bother me too much, even if wearing it all day

A snap in my shirt collar does the trick. I find LOTS tedious, chest loops too bra like and I don't think it's very clever to put anything around your neck up a tree.

The gate is inside. Works great for me and in about a year doing it, I've only made holes in two very thin t shirts

Ha, no. Doesn't cause me any bother and I quite often forget it's there and go home with it still on.

how does your helmet attach Dan :)? i dont really get the issue with neck elastic being dangerous (though make sure its good quality and doesnt snap and fling into your eye)as its no different to helmet straps really...
