buying an Air spade in the UK

Does anyone know of a supplier in the UK ? Fletcher Stewart no longer sell it.

Air Spade sounds like one of the classic jokey requests - like tartan paint and spirit level bubbles!

 

I was going to suggest Tutex as well, seems to be very few other UK sellers.

It's not quite the same tool apparently, but you can hire a soil pick pretty cheaply: Air Soil Pick for Hire - National Tool Hire Shops

 

Not as refined for sure, but may be appropriate for some jobs.

Can you elaborate? I've only used the air spade but not the soil pick. Are they that different?

the end or nozzles on an airspade are 'ventui valves' and tuned to certain air flow/pressure to focus and accelerate the air, the air pick has a hole in the end:001_smile:
