Convert 3/8 lo pro to 3/8

Is it possible to convert 3/8 lo pro to .325 or 3/8?

Could I just change from a 6 tooth sprocket to a 7 or 8? then buy a new bar and chain?

 

Is it that simple or is there more to it?

A saw designed to run 3/8 Picco won't have the power to handle .325 or 3/8. Especially if you want to up the sprocket too

 

There are things like the MS260 which is sold with either but smaller kerf is quicker so I don't understand what you're hoping to achieve?

Husqvarna 236, I want to change it so I can get a real full chisel chain (Without anti kickback features). All I can find for Picco is chains with the anti kickback features.

 

I'll be buying a bigger pro saw soon so its probably not even worth it, but the chain that came with my 236 is shite.

There are full chisel chains here with no anti kickback features ie. unguarded

 

Custom chain loops

You can obtain non safety chains in Lo Pro Stihl PS, Oregon 91VXL seem the most popular IMO the PS is the F1 of saw chains. You will get better cutting speed than with STD 3/8 on a small CC saw.

Full chisel is fractionally faster, but not enough for you to worry about. You'll waste more time keeping it sharp than you save cutting. I would say the issue is that it's a hobby chain.

 

Stihl Lo-pro Micro chisel in 1.1 or 1.3 depending upon your bar width is what you want. I run it in 1.1mm on four of my saws by choice. It's fast, easy to maintain and economical.

 

There's tons of chains without bumper tie straps for your saw, did you think all the climbing boys use Nanny state chain in their MS200ts?

Or would I be better off going with the unguarded stihl full chisel one Rob linked? I dont mind sharpening more often I normally do a touch up every tank anyways.
