So ive had an Echo cs260tes for a while now and it has been a brilliant saw and for the size of it its got some guts but upon the release of the Stihl ms150t and seeing the bar and chain combo on that I got to thinking...my saw is great on 3/8 lo pro but what would it be like on that tiny chain size the ms150t is running? Well...I can tell you it's excellent! And I mean I cannot believe the difference, just been out and stuffed the entire bar in some 5 year is dead elm and it just ripped! Was also able to push much harder than I could with the 3/8 chain and cutting speed is now exceptional for the size of the saw. It was well worth the effort to mod the bar to fit.

I had to re drill the chain tensioner holes which was easy, just lined the two bars up, clamped and drilled but the groove didn't line up for the oiler as that uses the same hole as the tensioner so i had to carefully grind the groove down with a slit disc so it met up with the tensioner hole. Not a difficult jom by any stretch of the imagination but had to be careful so as not to damage the rails too much

Do you find there is any chain slop so to speak in that bar? As the new stihl chain is .043" guage and I think that bars is .050"?

Stihl have now got some very small nose carving bars out - like the Samurai bars they are laminated with very small nose diameter - they look quite fragile very walled rails! Will stick some pics up in a couple of days.

It's actually the ms150 bar and chain I got from you a little while back I have put on it rob so no slop at all. I shall get that sprocket posted back over the weekend, shame it wasn't the right one, had to get one from echo in the end but it was £26 :/. Worth the effort though after feeling the gains

Nice one, have you got hold of you cs360tes yet?

Cheers Matty

Not yet no, they don't arrive until the 14/15th so I'm expecting it by the 20th. Cannot wait to see what it's like
