have got a slight problem with the oiling on my 560xp. no oil is feeding out on the bar and chain instead when it is running it is coming out from under the muffler? i have check the oil pump pipes seem to be free. could it be the gasket on the crankcase? obviously don't want to run it with the muffler off to check that. has anybody else has this problem or know what it could be ? cheers Tom

Take it to a dealer! Has the oil gallery split? The saw, I find, tends to heat up, a lot, so check the bolts on the crank case to make sure it's not opening up when hot

This sounds like the one I rebuilt with MattyF, his cylinder bolts loosened up causing the oil tank gasket to be sucked inwards causing a massive leak.

Worth checking this out - I had to helicoil all the crankcase bolt holes in the end!

there is a recall for this fault on some saws, take to your dealer to see if yours is in the serial number bracket for a free fix:thumbup1:

Not a recall, but a service bulletin.

It is worth checking out if it is an early saw. Start with checking for loose case bolts.

I had this problem with the first three 560s I had. It was a problem with the gasket between

the crankcase. They all eventually pissed oil out. Got them all fixed under warranty, and now

the newer ones have had the problem sorted so my dealer says.
