Hiya,

I recently bought an echo cs280wes. It's a real nice lightweight saw and I'm very happy with it! However it does seem slow to pick up revs and I don't think it's revving out as it should. So my question is do new saws need running in and will the performance get better with use? Might seem like a stupid question but I have never had the luxury of having a brand new saw before!

No they should be factory ready. Perhaps the hi/low jets aren't set properly?

That's kinda what I thought, might have to get it tuned then.:sneaky2: Cheers for the replies!:thumbup1:

It should be in the manual that came with it, telling you how to retune it yourself - or at least how to set back to 'factory setting'.

Its pretty easy to do yourself, but as its new I'm sure the shop you got it from (assuming it wasn't on-line) would tweak them for you.

I will have a go at adjusting the carb and see what happens! Might just be a case of that's how these saws run if you have the same issues!
