It's amazing how a little bit of success motivates you to do more.

 

My top tip is this- no matter how busy/rushed you are, always take time to put a card through the houses around you. Once you are quiet, it's too late to start advertising!

David, my post read a bit wrong.

Any money you can make from grass cutting or hedge cutting is great, just don't set up on your own yet.

 

You sound like a pretty determined man, and I'm sure you'll get there in time.

 

Don't be too proud to do crap jobs.

I cleaned out toilets for the army to pay for my driving licence.

Quite a few years ago now....

 

I was in a factory placing thousands & thousands of mini cookies into little plastic pots running along a conveyor belt - trifles destined for a certain large Supermarket.... the guy to the left of me (who was pumping cream) got sacked for telling jokes. The guy to the right of me (who inserted a little round sponge) was an ex bank manager (he was a very nice & humble guy) and couldn't get a job (he was too old).

 

The head gasket blew on my car before xmas and all that work became pointless!

 

Motto: Pointless jobs are sometimes pointless; follow your heart....

I used to have to clean pigeon **** off the seats at tranmere rovers. i do miss the good old days hahaha
