Like flies round Sh.......orbus torminalis

A lek is what capercaillie (spelling?) and other highland grouse carry out--> a mass meeting of the males at rutting season to establish a hierarchy for servicing the ladies.

 

perhaps your flies do it over Wild Service :confused1:

 

 

Ofcourse.........then the champion buzzer can pick a bunch of wild service flowers and woo the ladies with both his brute strength & sensitivity :001_tongue:

What sort of scent do those flowers carry? If they rely on insect pollination, perhaps they are putting out something that attracts the flies. Please excuse my ignorance if they are wind pollinated. :001_smile:

 

Not really sure Felix, I'll give 'em a sniff next spring and get back to ya :001_smile:

 

 

The interesting thing from this episode, was the lack of interaction between the flies and the flowers.

 

As in the above shot, they were well above :confused1:
