what is a good climbing rope not to expensive

I'm using the Yale Hedera 13mm at the moment and really rate it. That's with a 10mm silverstreak VT.

Depends on what climbing system you use? If your on a hitch climber setup, you can't go wrong with new England tachyon, also works well with some of the mechanical devices, spiderjack, zigzag etc. Can't comment on a prussic set up as I've never used it, but maybe yale magma ice (think that's it's name) is fairly inexpensive.

Have a look online see what takes your fancy at a price you think is reasonable then ask for opinions on it. How your using the rope is also helpful to know, like Dobson has said some ropes work better with mechanical devices. Tachyon is a good all rounder.

 

I also like the Yale 12mm lines such as Limelight/Blue Moon, personally not to keen on the Yale Imori but that's my own opinion.

Anyone know if I could use the Yale Kernmaster 11mm rope with a hitch climber set up? I will be using it ddrt just until I buy all the stuff to do srtwp.

For the HC, you can't go wrong with tachyon. Works very well on 8 mm armor prus with a VT hitch.
