Eye burning tools

Recommended Posts

Finally got round to making up a few sizes of eye tools all on a 1/4" shank. I'm also playing about with the idea of iris rings/pupils but TBH a dome seems just as affective to look at.

I firstly spun them up using a 240V drill which whilst worked didn't really give the burned look I wanted but then remembered I have a small die grinder type tool in a draw and that works really well.

I have tried several variations and for slow speed to increase friction I found they work best with no cutting edge or relief for burned waste dust just a straight forward cup on a shaft.

Pretty much the same for high speed, they will work in a drill with plenty of pressure, I will try and take a picture using the same tool at high speed die grinder type tool and drill.

I could knock a few up for sale at £10 each inc post if I can find up some suitable bolts........ materials are an issue for me.
