interesting as whilst having lunch had local gardining programe on and they were talking about diseses of trees and DED was mentioned. it looks as if those elms still surviving have a resistance to the bettle larvae and strains from this are being grown to replace those killed by the larvae of the beetle.

sp may see more elms growing again. a nice tree to see

Was working in a garden in Derbyshire last Tuesday, biggest damn wych elm I've ever seen!

I would be interested in knowing where that elm in your pic is graham, is it local?
