What diameter rope do you use on the pinto method?

my tachyon looks like it will rub with retrieval.

I use 11mm Kernmaster but I think any would work bud

There is more space with a pinto rig (if you are using 13mm) the normal pinto works fine for my cougar though at 11.7

I'm against for treework bro. I think any system we ascend with should allow us to descend without any changeover. Just my personal opinion though

I did about 50' without much effort with it this week, my regular vt system strapped to my harness which I swapped to at the anchor.

I mean for pure ascent.

Safe-ish or not?

It's quick.

For ascents without hazards- bees, hangers etc it's a real quick access system for sure bro. I just don't like that your stuck in that system with no quick way of exiting if you had too. I watched my anchor point start snapping out a few years ago as I was ascending, stopped and tried to down climb on croll n hand ascender but was painfully slow. Then the anchor point totally snapped out. On a RW I could of just bailed out no issue..

hey drew, should i be using a steel crab for the pinto set up? i'm still only fresh to srt, had started playing with it but now on a contract that has me on spikes all day long! the one thing i was trying to figure out was how to choke my top tip having ascended on a base tie, the pinto set up looks perfect:)

I've absolute zero issues with using an alloy crab bro, but if steel makes you feel better, then use steel.
