WANTED Portable Charcoal Kiln

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I bought an old diesel bowser off a farmer for £50, cut it up and got a mate to weld it how I wanted it, done two burns now with it and works great.

It's about a 1m across and just over 1m high, chimneys and ports are made from scrap that another mate had about in his yard.

Update on who makes kilns/retorts at present appreciated?

Exeter still make retorts - they have become more sophisticated, to the point where the most recent version can I believe be fully automated once running on wood gas. The price has not come down though.
