Echo saws generally have very low power output for their weight and cc, so try to avoid them.

Either they don't know how to port the engines properly, or they respect thert costumers too little to care to do it.

BS!!!

You've spread this message throughout on Arboristsite.com and now you're trying it here. Please, give it a by would you. You hate anything that isn't husky. Echo probably more than any other company, DO know how to port 2-cycle engines properly; ported to run sweet and last well, not shake themsleves to bits with stratospheric power ouputs (on paper :001_rolleyes:). Furthermore you can exploit that porting later as it would seem a serious chunk of hot-saw racers do (oh how inconvenient of me to mention that). You need a trip to kioritz (echo) factory in Japan to see the blood, sweat and tears they put into 2-cycle engines. Kioritz and Kawasaki - the finest in the world.

Niko,

This is where I ask you how many Echo saws you have used for work...again...

Especially since many Echo-branded saws are now Shindaiwa design and manufacture.

Just checked them out Ant . They seem like a good little saw for the chipper fodder . Youtube have some good clips on them . Abbey Garden may sell them ?

Might get one myself

Sweet! They look like nice saws to leave by the chipper/hedge reduction/ or for coppicing type of work! I tried youtube and didnt find many vids but will try again! I think the cheapest I have found them is here - Echo CS280WES Petrol Chainsaw

£231 all in! I have a 200t but dont really do much climbing so this might be the ideal saw for me!
