The wound needs tidying up with a sharp knife, I have used vaseline with Road Traffic Accidentbark scrubs but cling film would do as well. Bridge grafts ,or any grafts are not easy, use a craft knife to get the sharpest cuts and joins.

Having said that it will be less hassle just to buy a new tree mulch and don't strim.

The man is strimming the fence line next week.

 

There should be plenty of room for the trees by the time he has finished :)

Actually referring to planting trees in general to close walls or other structures in general effecting future growth.

We had a similar thing when a teething Border pup decided a dwarf apple tree was a good thing to chew on.

 

That was about 4 years ago, we did not do any thing to it as we thought it was going to die.

 

It is slowly callusing over, and fruits very well for a small tree.
