Stihl have a 4 stroke blower,you still put oil in the fuel.The bottom end fills with fuel,so the is no oil sump,i think.

i think it jus has valves rather than ports and works in a similar way to a proper 2-stroke...

nothing wrong with Makita saws period i've go 2 and i'll be getting more in the future.

 

I know of someone with a makita around 55cc(dont know the number) he`s had it for over 6 years with regular use and no probs at all. Not that i`d buy one tho.

 

I know of someone just ordering a top handle... is it going to be a bad buy?

i had a makita top handled saw when i set up 8 years ago. it lasted me over a year, it was a bit gutless but it earnt me money. think i paid about £200 cos it was ex display and sold it for £100 so im not complaining.
