550xp Bar

currently running a 16

 

but needing a longer bar for crosscutting

as i usually farm out the big trees to contractors - but highwinds/windblow have made it a viable purchase.

 

obviously in a prefect world i would get a bigger saw :D

 

so thoughts please biggest bar that would comfortably be used by you on one .

This has been discussed in other threads, so worth searching for a read of those.

Overall it seems 18" is the maximum you'd want to use on the 550xp.... but the Husqvarna spec does say maximum 20" bar; if you're thinking of trying a 20" let us know how it goes. Cheers, steve

I have a 550xp and can honestly say it's more than comfortable on an 18" bar and mine surprises everyone that uses it with how fast it cuts on an 18 for a 50cc saw but I wouldn't go to a 20. Think it would be too much and too much stress on the saw
