Roots shot or shallow plate?

 

Any thoughts regarding wind load on its newly exposed neighbours?

Hey David. Roots were fine. It's a fairly shallow soil on a pebble bed but the valentine storm was just too much for them. The other trees may have been affected, one if the clients wants us to survey the rest of the trees. I haven't really had a good look around thee yet

At first I was trying to figure out why you didn't use the crane to get the lumps down, but noticed you where tied to the hook.

 

Clever use of block and tackles.

Yes we were rigging some of it off the crane hook and also using the crane as a climbing anchor. It was difficult to tell which branches were supporting the tree so after discussing with the crane guy, we decided to use that approach rather than tie to the tree, I also tied back to the hook for a timber section which I thought was holding the tree up.

 

I was pretty happy with how the go pro on the crane perspective came out.
