Lol, found A LOT of it under the stairs it measures 9x3x1" and guess it was old floor tiles at some point.

 

May keep some for making templates out of?

 

Just wasnt use if it was meranti?

it looks more like iroko in those pics mate, in which case it should be ok

 

 

O ok👍 so the stain used may have tinted it then. Even after sanding it ?

take a snap in daylight then ill be sure.

 

the end grain does not look like meranti but more like iroko...

you said that it had orange in it? i've never seen meranti with orange in it only pink or red.
