Meranti??

Gave it a quick rough sand 40grit.

 

What do u think ?

Chuck it in the fire Dan, native timbers are much nicer looking. That stuff is boring, has no figure and will have you wheezing possibly when cutting and sanding.

Lol, found A LOT of it under the stairs it measures 9x3x1" and guess it was old floor tiles at some point.

 

May keep some for making templates out of?

take a snap in daylight then ill be sure.

 

the end grain does not look like meranti but more like iroko...

you said that it had orange in it? i've never seen meranti with orange in it only pink or red.

it does look more meranti like now but it still looks orange in the pics flash or not. add one in daylight tomorrow.
