What about some ice hockey pucks, they're about £2 a go on ebay if you buy a pack. I've used them for lots of engine mounts including a 300+bhp E30 turbo  Might be a little on the hard side for this job but for less than a tenner it might be worth a go?

Cheers mate! I got it sorted in the end, it was the drive belts. They were "egg" shaped after sitting idle for a year or so, popped 2 new ones on and it has made a big differance. I did buy a rubber roller that is fitted to boat trailers and was going to chop that up and use it but the engine seems fine now:) Will just have to use the chipper now and see how the engine performs! Will post some pics later if anyones interested.

You would have had a hell of a job keeping the engine on the machine if you rubber mounted it with anything other than proper mounts.

Even then, if you use proper mounts, you would never have got the belts tight without breaking the mounts.

so you finally stuck your hand in your pocket and went chinese

Yeah, since having read some reviews on the chinese engines they seem to be good value. Comes with a 6 month commercial warranty too, all for just under £300. Times are hard so my wallet ruled my head, hopefully it will be fine!:001_tongue:

it will be fine the only issue we had was flames shooting out the exhaust that was due to valves needing adjusted 4 years hard work and its still going strong

Flames arn`t a prob, will remind me of my Subaru WRX "back in the day"! lol! I know alot of people shun chinese stuff but they seem to make most things you buy nowadays anyway and I dont think they are as bad as they used to be! Glad to hear that yours is still going strong!
