depending on which saw you wanted to fit this to as 95VPX .325 .050 is intended for saws up to 55cc in which case you would need a 150MPBK095 bar and a 95VPX064E chain.

I wouldn't run this on a 357, 560 372 etc as they would be too powerful, I have seen it on 435, 346, 445, 450 and 550 series all ok.

And mid range Dolmars on K095 mount up to 55cc would be ok on .325 chain already.

thankyou i was going to try it on a 42cc dolmar and 50cc dolmar :thumbup:

Some great input thanks everyone.

I didn't explain earlier but I'm turning an 026 into another carving saw, so will be running picco on a carving bar.

I know Oregon also do 1/4 rims, does anyone have or know where to get hold of stihl 1/4 rims?

As far as I know, it is 0000 642 1241, but it fits only the Stihl "mini 7-spline" drums, so hardly an option on your 357..

I was under the impression that the rim conversion didn't need a new clutch drum when you changed it over on the 261?

That's right, but I think Sawtroll was implying that a Stihl rim will only fit a Stihl drum. Are they compatible with Husqvarna?

Oregon do them also if that helps?

Rob at Chainsawbars stocks them :)

Stihl mini 7-spline setups are not compatible with any other saw brand, and not even with the replacement drums that Oregon sell.

As far as I know, picco rims are not made by Oregon for any other hub size (likely a Stihl imposed business agreement), but some "pin type" rims from "custom" makers have been occationally observed.

The above is my impression of the situation, I am not 100% sure of everything, and it may of course change.

A great formula is the 95VPX .325 050 low pro chain and just change the bar to a 150MPGD025 or 160 or 180 for 15-18"

using 95VPX062E 067E or 074E chain lengths, this has been featured on Arbtalk and many on here have tried and use this. Faster cutting less vibration and you use the standard .325 sprocket.

A 15" bar on an 260/261 is about 10% faster using this chain set up

Shavey, this is the setup i have on my makita ea4300. 15" bar and it runs a treat.
