Got my new 550xp today! great deal from F R Jones and Son. I was so excited I forgot to order a sharpening kit.:blushing: I've got no saws using .325 so that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it  It's on a 15" bar but I'll most probably get an 18"to fill the gap to my 372xp on 20" and 28". Have any of you used a 550 on a 20"bar at all?

I haven't and I've read others dont recommend it either.

I went for the Sugihara Light Pro 18" as my biggest bar, but not used it yet.

Some people opt for the narrow kerf 18" Oregon bar (which shouldn't sap quite so much power).

But following the Sugihara advert how could one resist !!!

I've not tried an 18" on mine, and I doubt I'd ever bother. I'm sure it would handle it on occasion if need be, but at the end of the day it's a 50cc saw and runs a 13" or 15" really well, both power wise and handling wise.

I'm not a big fan of the narrow kerf .325 chains - I tend to find they throw really easily.

If you've got a 20" for your 372, don't waste your money getting a fractionally smaller bar to run on a saw with only 2/3rds the displacement :thumbup1:
