Tirfor problem

Out with my baby tirfor on Saturday and on winching in, the handle wasn't going through its full range of movement. Still worked as expected but only half the amount of movement.

Anyone know the reason and have a possible solution for me please?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I actually opened mine up the other day. I was sort of expecting the whole thing to fall to pieces but the inner workings are all interlinked so should stay in one piece. Now I would not like to build one from scratch but if you carefully undo the bolts on the case and take a look inside you might be be able to see the problem. Good luck!

Defo be wary of opening it up if you don't have mechanical skills. I did and was left with the inevitable small spring left over!

Oil is good; the more the merrier. Pour it in until it's running out, then some more; you cannot over lubricate them.
