Happy doing mushrooms, but thought I'd try something a bit different this afternoon. Bit of finessing yet, but not much otherwise I think I'll end up making a big mistake.

Using an MS150 with the normal bar. Find the vibes a bit much though, swapped to thicker gloves halfway through.

I like it. ref vibes, I use the same set up for everything I do and when I 1st got the saw it vibrated quite a bit but now it's had a few gallons through it and the AV spring on the handle has had some wear I dont notice any undue vibes. I wear a pair of Johnserd chainsaw b#gloves.

My 150 just died after 10 months work :( No spark :(

Wooden bar, wooden chain, wooden engine, wouldn' go?

...I'll get me coat

Like it. Grin.

I'm no carver, and certainly not artistic, which is why it's not an owl. Would love to do one of those.

I think it's just cos the 150 is so light the vibes don't get damped so well, so using it for carving means thick gloves I'm afraid.

Cheers for the positive comments. I think if I do another I'll mark out the dimensions beforehand on the wood. Eyeballed it today, so the main handle is a bit out of proportion.

Will coating it in something like groundnut oil stop it splitting? Or at least slow the process down?
