If you turn the drive with a flat screwdriver does the small cog rotate? can you feel any tight spots or anything? I find it odd that someone has canibalised it for parts if the main gears worked.

take the 2 halves apart and check all the gears have all their teeth

the bits you have missing are the parts that are normally in a for spares or repair normally one of the other gears is knackered or where it goes on the shaft is cracked

also check that the bearings in the cover plate and the opposite one in the main body are ok

Ok, i just wouldnt want you wasting money on parts then to find out the main gears are fubar.

Cant find the shims or the bottom cover and gasket, but the parts above are £100, throw in the shims and the cover and a set of blades and fixings and its cheaper to get a brand new head.
