Buying a saw of the internet

Its a vicious circle when it comes to buying local verses online. Once the online side has the advantage it drives down the price and then it becomes less and less profitable for the local shops to have the part or product in stock for it to sit on their shelves for possibly a few years.

Its not just saw parts either, I was trying to buy an analysis accounts book locally last week but nobody sold them and I had to order online. Ok no service issues but its another 27 quid moved away from the local economy.

I buy all my kit from FRJones, they are the best for service and advice. When it comes to servicing I just do it all myself now.

hmmm, not so sure about that... none of my local dealers stocked what i wanted anyway. I think they have every opportunity to get things ordered in, and compete on price.

Hi,

I try & support local dealers providing they are prepared to support me, we bought a hedge trimmer from Gamme Vert usually OMG prices , but had a good offer with 2 year guarantee.

We got a good demo on the basics; starting & maintaining etc, Mrs NFG had a go starting & operating as well. We also noted the workshop was well organised with helpful staff.

Anyway, a year later it developed a problem, returned & a week later they had fixed it.

Cant fault the service we received.

Just wish their 550xp price was a lot less than 779 Euros !!!
