Type of chain

Hi i have a roll of stihl chain and wondered what the number and letter stamped on the chain meant.On the drive link is a 3 and on the raker a letter p.Thanks

Hi the 3 denotes 3/8 pitch and I think the P is for picco, so should be 3/8 picco/ lowpro.

It's the shape of the cutter that reduces vibe, the "hump" on the top of the drive link isn't a depth gauge per se, it's to reduce kickback.

Where on the driver is the "3"?

 

If it is on the drive tang it means that the gauge is 1.3mm (.050").
