Hi got a problem with my recoil I've tension it up as normal all nice and does what it's supposed to but when I put tge unit back on the saw and pull it the cord does not recoil until I take the side off yhen it does it straight away any suggestions as I am baffled cheers

Oh ok, on some saws you need to pull the cod out a couple of times a short way as you position the starter cover to engage the dogs.

 

I used to do a bit of beach casting this time of year and pulled out the cod:lol:

 

Place the side cover on, and pull the saw over lightly to mesh the pulley with the flywheel pawls - check the springs on the flywheel pawls are OK.
