OK, i wonder if anyone can help..?

Doea anyone have proper instruction/pictures of the correct way to set up a hitch climber with a VT... I've had a look on t'interweb but the pictures i've found of VT's look nothing like what i use.. i have since found through looking that i have been using a french prussik... now i thought these were one and the same thing??

So.. any pictures/insructions/good links of the correct way of tying a VT would be very much appreciated :)

here is mine. I was informed by someone at Capel on saturday that a VT should consist of 7 rap/braid combo around the rope. If that is the case then this technically ain't a VT. But it does the job for me.

Edit: sorry pic won't upload.

I stand to be corrected, but that looks like a Distel to me.

im not shore what it is but i like the look off it and looks easier that usin my blakes

Buy a copy of the Tree Climbers Knot Book. They have some really simple and easy to follow pic's in there. I think you can get the book from Proclimber.

I can't remember, but I think they rate the knots according to experience too, so you won't end up on a knot that's hard to get right and may end up letting you down.

I was led to believe this was an "advanced Blakes" aka the Martin hitch.

Needs to be clarified by anyone who knows?
