Have you spoken to Esso, and sent them a sample of the mix?

A few years ago now.. There is a Shell garage near me that is very popular with tree surgeons mainly because its on the way to everywhere. It killed one of my saw 346xpg took it to the dealers where there were 10 saws with the same problem. Turns out fuel had all came from the same station. Dealer said it was too much ethonol in the fuel.
