Hey guys, I've been working on my on-line advertising for a couple of weeks now, and there is a site above me on google that's giving me some grief.

 

Tree Stump Removal Isle Of Wight - Compare Quotes

 

Now, at first glance, it seems like a good website, but it seems to be an automatically generated template full of key words. The 'Isle of Wight part is interchangeable for any location. For example:

 

Trusted Tree Surgeons Manchester - Compare Free Quotes

 

or even

 

Trusted Tree Surgeons England - Compare Free Quotes

 

They have an 'online quote form' for any job, yet they disassociate themselves in other areas, saying that they are just a directory. Some of the pages carry the ISA logo, but there is no other mention of the ISA.

 

But it doesn't stop there! Swap tree surgeons for something else, and its evident that this site is some sort of plague.

Unfortunately, they dont respond to emails, and I have tried to google an answer, but the results only show yet more variations of their site. If it seemed to be a legitimate service, I wouldnt mind them beating me on google search results, but they just seem to be spamming the web! Has anybody else got any insight as to who or what this is, and anything that can be done? Is it worth reporting them to google?

 

My main issue is that my potential clients are going to be tricked by this website (which seems legitimate at first), and will submit a query... who knows what direction they are going to be pointed in!

With further investigation, I have found out that they are a wing of Find a Tradesman, Trusted Local Tradesmen & Builders, Home Improvement & Renovation Specialists | ServiceMagic and HomeAdvisor.com | Get Matched to Top-Rated Remodelers, Plumbers and More some sort of directory website. HomeAdvisor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

 

They seem massive, but quite a lot of controversy seems to surround the services they provide: Service Magic Complaints and Reviews @ Pissed Consumer

Its not spam, its an aggregate site, and the fact its higher on google than you is because they are paying a higher rate
