Question for Mick specifically.

Especially as your a wanna be Lance Armstrong :001_tt2:

But feel free to jump in people

Do you have any thoughts or experience of Turbo Trainers?

Looking to build up calfs, quads and knee muscles after my arthroscopy.

I'm down at the Hosi Gym once a week, but this is nowhere near enough.

My problem is identifying time to work out, so want to gear up something at home.

I haven't got a road bike, so was wondering if you could set up the TT with a mountain bike?

They,re great Dave, I,d never be without one. I use mine when its raining. I,ll spin my legs for anything up to an hour and then the next time I go out on the road I cant stop spinning. If my road bike is dirty and I want train indoors the wife makes me put the mountain bike on the turbo, so yeah any bike will go on a turbo. Ideal to get youre legs working without too much strain as long as you spin granny gears. I tore a collateral ligament while cycle touring in Holland many years ago, I had to cut the trip short and get the train home. A few weeks later I was on the turbo spinning light gears. Take it easy

You could do with fitting a slick rear tyre on the bike David, a couple of large industrial fans would be useful too! You'll know what I mean when you start using it.

The tyre on my bike doesnt come into contact with the turbo, so no need for a slick John. Instead it has two rollers that press against the rim..........Dave: The fans are to keep you cool, boy will you sweat, I always lay a towel under the bike or the ol woman goes mental.
