Which edible fungi

Be careful with parsol mushrooms, they can make some people really ill.

 

Wood Blewits are pretty good and quite easy to identify.

 

beef steak is edible but nothing special, needs a sauce

 

Then of course there is the good old field mushroom, not to be confused with the yellow stainer or horse mushroom.

 

The edible bolete is easy to identify also.

 

You could always try jews ear if you`re into tasteless chewy stuff! needs a sauce also!

IIRC the shaggy ink-cap can have the effect of multiplying the effects of any alcohol drunk with it.

 

They use ink caps in alcohol aversion therapy (or a derivation you`d think) it causes someone who mixes with alcohol to very rapidly get the most unpleasant hang-over imaginable, hence, the theory goes, after a while you wouldn`t want to touch a drop. Havn`t tried it though!
